Nursery Places for 3-Year-Old Children
Here at Old bank Academy, we’ve decided to re-open our Nursery doors to 3-year-old children, but not as you know it! We are creating an Early Years Unit which will cater for 3-year-old nursery & Reception children from January 2022.
Since becoming an academy and joining the Multi Academy Trust at Impact Education, we’ve come on leaps and bounds in many areas, particularly with the improvements made to our Early Years learning environments. With the support from Impact Education, we now have both indoor and outdoor areas resourced by Early Excellence- high quality early learning provision.
At Old Bank Academy, we strive to make a real difference to the children and families in our community. We aim to enable and support you and your child to achieve all that they can in the early foundation years. You and your child will be supported by not only the EYFS team but also a strong Pastoral team that can help parents to support children both at school and at home.
Early Years Foundation Stage (EYFS) for your Child
We use real, exciting, interesting experiences both indoors and outdoors, to inspire the awe and wonder that young children demonstrate. We allow children to delight in discovering the world around them which we hope will develop into a lifelong love of learning.
EYFS children will have the opportunity to visit our outdoor learning woodland area, perform on our indoor & outdoor stage areas and have access to oracy opportunities to develop their speech and language.
Early reading is a focus in our EYFS unit and nursery children will be exposed to stories, poems, rhyme and songs daily. We will also give children a book to bring home every night for parents and children to share. Children will also take part in early phonics sessions which will follow the Little Wandle phonics scheme from 2021/22.
In EYFS children will be introduced to our Old Bank GROW values – Growth, Respect, Opportunity and Wellbeing. These values will be threaded through an exciting curriculum and in daily conversations.
At Old Bank we want every child to thrive and be the best that they can be and achieve excellent outcomes.
