This term in maths we have rolled out the ‘Smart Strategies’ across school and these will make a big impact on standards of arithmetic in all classes.
Starting from subitising in EYFS and moving up into dividing fractions by other fractions in Year 6, the Smart Strategies is a one-stop guide for around 70 different arithmetic skills required at primary school.
With 71% of Year 6 pupils meeting age-related expectations in 2023, the Smart Strategies are a very effective tool for rapid arithmetic improvement and we are now very proud to have them available to all classes following a successful pilot during 2022-23.
